Commercial Property Management company in the South Bay has an immediate opening for a full-time Accounting Manager.

Job Summary: This position requires a “hands on” person who is a self-starter and able to work independently.

This position is a full-charge position requiring knowledge of all accounting functions.

The Accounting Manager must perform complex professional accounting duties involving accurate record keeping and cash management of multiple company accounting activities.

They shall prepare reports which summarizes and forecasts company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.

They shall also advise management about property and liability insurance coverage needed and administer and report all payroll and employee benefits.

Duties and Responsibilites (including but not limited to): • Independently handles all accounting functions.

• Prepares, reviews, and monitors general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

• Administers and assists Administrative Assistant with the accounts payable processes, bank deposits, outstanding invoices and vendor relations as it relates to accounting.

• Documents cash receipts.

• Prints check-runs bi-monthly.

• Prepares and reports bi-monthly payroll information.

• Administers employee benefit plans.

• Performs all aspects of monthly and year-end closings.

• Deals directly with insurance broker to ensure proper liability insurance coverage.

• Assist Property Manager with monthly and annual budgets.

• Responsible for cash management and banking relationships.

• Produces financial statements and various other accounting reports as needed.

• Reviews financial results and prepares managerial reports and analysis as needed.

• Continuously work to make procedures and processes more efficient and effective.

• Coordinate with the annual audit and tax returns with the outside CPA. • Prepare year end W2s and 1099 forms.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: • Possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices and procedures.

• Ability to understand and learn application of computer software as it relates to accounting operations.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

• Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.

• Possess a strong ability to multi-task as this position will be handling the accounting for multiple entities.

• Team player.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Need little direction and minimal supervision.

• Ability to work independently in a small office environment.

Experience: • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field or a minimum of 5 years experience in a related field.

• Real estate or property management experience preferred.

• Experience with Maxwell Colonial software is preferred.
