AM Operations Manager Job in Los Angeles, California US

Job Description A multi-state transportation and delivery company is accepting resumes for the position of AM or PM Operations Manager located in the Los Angeles Valley.

This position directs, administers, and oversees the activities in a facility by implementing policies, goals, and objectives established by senior management.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

2. Guides and directs staff in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the organizations services.

3. Directs the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on broad corporate goals and growth objectives.

4. Implements programs that meet corporate goals and objectives.

5. Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage the organizations current activities and its projected growth.

6. Maintains a sound facility plan of establishing policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession.

7. Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote effective communication and adequate information flow within the organization.

8. Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically reports these results.

9. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

10. Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws.

11. Must be able to reduce costs and maintain high productivity along with on time nightly departures of all line hauls to various locations.

12. Must implement a strong plan to eliminate misrouted freight on a nightly basis.

13. Must be able to adapt to change, attrition and a fast paced environment.

Salary ranges from $45,000 to $55,000 base + performance bonus.

Benefits package is offered after 90 days.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree5 years or more of experience in the transportation and small parcel delivery industry.

Prior management experience preferred.

Working knowledge of California labor laws desired.

Experience working with independent contractors is a plus.

Work schedule starts in the late afternoon and ends in the early morning
