ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR - Educational Affairs Job in Boston 02111, Massachusetts US
The Office of Educational Affairs (OEA) is responsible for the overall medical education program, including curricular development, evaluation and assessment; Overseeing and administering educational grants; Supporting the teaching faculty through faculty development programs, centralized management of the curriculum and by providing administrative support for education-related faculty committees; Overseeing the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center and the medical schools room scheduling system.
The Administrative Coordinator's responsibilities include: Preparing and editing the evaluation templates used for all courses, programs, clerkships, and fourth year medical student rotations; Gathering all details of courses, such as lecturers, small group leaders, and lab instructors to update evaluations each semester; Corresponding with faculty by phone, fax, email or mail; Posting evaluations on TUSK and monitor completion by students (including maintaining a system of reminders); Preparing all course/clerkship evaluations for review by the Evaluator, Deans of Educational and Student Affairs, and relevant faculty; Formating student comments, tracking grade submittals and assuring course/clerkship directors receipt of evaluations; Providing administrative/clerical support for the Director of Evaluation & Assessment (Evaluator); Maintaining and updating the secure testing question database and produce exams.
Basic Requirements: Bachelors degree with one to three years of related experience.
Familiarity with Micrsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications: Data management skills; Ability to type 50 words per minute.
Ability to be resourceful and able to initiate, maintain, develop and enhance relationships with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and follow through on workflow using sound judgment and strategy.
Sensitivity, good judgment, professional manner, flexibility and ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential qualities.
Must be able to function under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment and pay attentions to details.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often with continual interruption.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Some evenings and weekends for proctoring during the Standardized Patient programs and the Clinical Skills teaching.
