World Kitchen sells products through multiple channels, including mass merchants, department stores, specialty retailers and our own stores.
The Company is currently looking for a Compliance Engineer.
This position is located in our Rosemont, IL World Headquarters and will report to our Sr. Project Manager.
Position Summary: Works closely with product development teams and Quality department to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and adhered to. Creates and maintains general specifications and qualification procedures for ceramic, glass, plastic, and metal products to reflect applicable regulatory and performance requirements.
Ensures product qualification and approval processes meet the needs of the business and are followed.
Essential Functions:
Is the authority on regulatory compliance requirements and provides research and consultation to product development teams and Quality department as needed.
Supports regulatory strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure WK compliance with all regulatory agencies (FDA, etc.).
Monitors regulatory compliance requirements, assesses changes, and communicates impact to WK business and products.
Recommends and makes approved changes to WK general specifications and product qualification procedures based upon changes to regulatory and product performance requirements and communicates revisions to all key stakeholders using the ECN process.
Creates and executes test plans related to product performance and/or claims substantiation including coordination of 3rd party test facilities.
Leads and/or contributes to sustainability evaluations and provides documentation as required to support sustainability claims.
Provides expertise in problem identification and resolution as it relates to product performance and compliance issues.
Participates in the development and engineering release of new products by providing expertise and assistance with general specifications, regulatory compliance requirements and product qualification processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
BS Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.
Five (5) + years experience in quality control and/or product development.
Experience with development and quality control of glass, ceramic, metal, and/or plastic components.
Ability to manage time between multiple projects.
Ability to convey technical concepts effectively though both verbal and written communication.
Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel required).
