.NET Developer - With LIMS Job in Cambridge, Massachusetts US
This Developer will join a Scientific Informatics Systems Group and work closely with Scientists to provide Informatics Systems to support drug discovery processes, specifically in the area of Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics studies.
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated team player with a strong understanding of biology as well as possess strong experience in software engineering with a proven record of building effective tools for Scientists, especially in the area of data management.
Responsibilities: Actively work with Scientists in the scientific group to understand their needsDefine proper data management solution(s) to meet their scientific needsPerform rapid prototyping to refine the requirements with proper documentationWork with internal and external software teams, where appropriate, to design proper solutions to meet Scientists' needsImplement the solutions to support the Scientists' workWork with different groups to ensure the solution effectively and efficiently implementedNET Development Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or advanced degree in BiologyAt least 3-5 years of experience in application development in a drug discovery, scientific, or biotech environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProven capabilities interacting with Scientists and being customer service orientedAbility to work independently and/or as part of a teamExtensive knowledge in the biology, biological research processes and data management tools / applications used during biological researchGood understanding and practical experience in fundamentals of software engineeringSolid understanding of relational databases and familiarity with Oracle and/or SQL ServersExperience developing software with .NET technology is required
