Job Description GENERAL SUMMARY The Technology Consultant / Sales Engineer provides high-level technical expertise in support of pre-sales activities.

Assists customers in the analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions.

Technical emphasis is on hardware and software capabilities and requirements, as well as systems integration.

Understands RSA and competitive technology and business applications within a specific practice area.

Makes technical and sales presentations to customer's technical staff and senior management.

Assists in preparation of responses to RFPs.

The role is supported by the efforts of our Marketing, Product Management, Client Services, Support, Inside Sales and Engineering teams.

The Account Manager and Sales Engineer work together to understand business requirements of the client and make recommendations leveraging our capabilities, resulting in a Win - Win relationship.

RESPONSIBILITIES The Sales Engineer (SE) provides technical guidance during product demonstrations, presentations, and pilot implementations.

The SE must analyze customer business requirements, build proof-of-concept solutions, and demonstrate solutions back to prospective customers.

Supports customers and sales team members in determining best-practice approaches for implementing security management processes.

Collaborates with engineering team to develop custom integration solutions where required.

Specific responsibilities include: · Deliver sales and technical pre-sales efforts to secure the technical win for new business and ensure growth of existing accounts.

· Maintain full knowledge and hands-on proficiency with all company product lines and major competitor's product lines.

· Assess potential application of company products or services and offer solutions that meet customer needs.

· Provide technical training to clients and partners, and communicate customer feedback into future product development.

· Time and territory management - overnight travel required and could exceed 50%.

REQUIRED SKILLS · Ability to deliver product demonstrations to C-level executives, managers, and technical system administrators · Ability to speak in front of small- to medium-size audiences (1 to 100 people) · Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in support of multiple sales team members and customers (delivering sales demos, building quality proof-of-concepts, and delivering training) · Excellent written (RFP, RFI, RFQ, and proposal work) and verbal communication skills · Strong knowledge in analyzing, designing, and recommending approaches to implementing customer security management processes · Ability to act independently as well as the ability to work across multiple teams within the organization · Strong knowledge of information security topics and technology · Strong technical proficiency across Windows platforms · Knowledge of one or more relational databases COMPANY OVERVIEW RSA, The Security Division of EMC, is the premier provider of security, risk and compliance management solutions for business acceleration.
