WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? HIMCO is currently looking for an Investment Financial Writer to join our Marketing organization.

Successful candidates will have the following requirements: At least 3-5 years of financial writing or editorial experience, to include fixed income topics High quality experience as a writer/editor Mastery of fundamental investment and portfolio concepts, preferably in depth knowledge of fixed income strategies Ability to perform basic quantitative analysis Deadline driven orientation Some project management ability Ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel Bachelors degree required; CFA designation and/or NASD Series 6, 63, 7 licenses considered a plus, but not required Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong communication skills are essential Ability to be a team player, with self-motivation and a demonstrated willingness to take on more responsibility Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? The Financial Writer is responsible for writing and editing of high quality investment and business content for a variety of end users to support HIMCO's sales and retention efforts for its growing business.

The position will work closely with the investment and marketing teams to ensure exceptional messaging and positioning of HIMCO's investment management capabilities.

Essential responsibilities include: Write and communicate commentary to support positioning, sales and client service activities of HIMCO's businesses.

Key outputs may include: - Topic/ white papers on industry trends, HIMCO investment strategies etc. - Repeatable portfolio commentary for HIMCO investment strategies and client accounts - Commentary on market/portfolio events for internal and external readers - Content and messaging on HIMCO investment strategies for presentation materials, RFP's, institutional websites, e- newsletters and product positioning documents etc. Collaborate with investment professionals and distribution to identify key messaging and implement across communications Develop written website content to include: product strategy overviews and related investment educational articles Convert research/presentations created by firm's investment professionals into articles for website publication Proactively determine relevant investment topics and timing for articles and interviews Ensure that all content on across HIMCO communications are integrated and aligned with business strategies of portfolio management, product management and account management groups Maintain regular contact with marketing and servicing groups to stay informed on topics of interest Review and edit content created by other members of writing team or investment professionals throughout the firm Work with legal staff to ensure all content is compliant with applicable regulations WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION OPPORTUNITY?
