Responsibilities: 'Responsible for development of product positioning and content of message for new and existing Legg Mason investment offerings within proprietary, third-party and institutional distribution channels.
'Serve as primary marketing liaison for investment management teams communicating their investment objectives, strategies and philosophies to Sales, financial professionals and clients.
'Acting as a "proxy" for portfolio managers, communicate with clients, prospects and sales force to: explain investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific products; and provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the firm's economic outlook.
(In short, serve as primary marketing liaison for investment management teams to communicate with Sales, financial professionals and clients.
) 'Collaborate with channel managers and sales directors to develop new marketing strategies and targeted campaigns for mutual funds and separately managed accounts.
'Develop asset acquisition and retention strategies for both mutual fund and managed account portfolios to maximize assets under management (AUM's).
'Assist portfolio management, product development and marketing staff in new business initiatives and development of new products.
'Present at training meetings, on conference calls, etc. to enhance sales force production.
'Coordinate RFP activities and new sales opportunities.
'Evaluate Legg Mason's asset management platform versus the competition to optimize promotion of products and enhance customer service.
'Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education 'Bachelor Degree; MBA or CFA Charterholder preferred Specific Skills 'Three-five years of financial services experience, mutual fund/managed account experience strongly preferred 'Strong understanding of fixed income and fixed income products 'Strong analytical skills (portfolio attribution, performance-related statistics, etc.) 'Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (NASD, SEC) 'Strong understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, styles and issues; must be able to communicate effectively with investment management, Sales, financial professionals and Marketing.
'Financial sales experience, or integral involvement in the sales process and organization; must understand the wholesaling process and environment and be able to effectively communicate with and work as part of the Legg Mason sales/marketing team 'Top notch written communication and oral presentation skills 'Team player with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all departments and organizational levels 'Self directed; must be comfortable with establishing objectives, then working independently to achieve them, seeking manager's input as needed Licenses Series 6 or 7 and/or 24 preferred Legg Mason is an Equal Opportunity Employer RESPOND HERE!
