The Market Research Group provides insight into investor behavior and attitudes to identify opportunities for growth and improvements for Fidelity Personal Investments (FPI).
The Director of Market Research will report to a Vice President of Market Research for FPI. The major responsibilities of this position include designing and managing primary research related to communications, product, service, pricing, consumer needs, and demographics.
FPI Market Research supports multiple business areas including marketing & segment management, advertising and communications, product development and the customer distribution channels including the website.
The mission of the group is to provide actionable research that contributes to profitable growth, improved service levels and increased efficiencies.
This position will use both primary and secondary research techniques and will be responsible for designing, executing and communicating both research results to business partners and key stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities o Work with business partners to identify research needs and opportunities and help clarify research objectives o Design and execute both quantitative and qualitative research studies as needed.
This includes defining the project scope, objectives and deliverables, designing the research instrument, analysis, creation detailed findings and actionable recommendations.
o Where appropriate, helping business partners develop tactics to implement recommendations o Present findings to senior management.
o Manage vendor relationships to ensure projects are delivered with highest quality, on time and on budget.
o Assess market trends through secondary research, external consultants or associations and communicate findings through reports or presentations to management.
o Must be able to work collaboratively with business partners at all levels.
Qualifications: o 7 to 10+ years of related experience or 5+ years with an MBA o Excellent analytical skills, as demonstrated by a track record of thought leadership and problem solving activities.
o Acts as project coordinator, maintains focus on strategy, keeps key stakeholders informed and interacts with other Fidelity companies o Excellent oral communications, writing and presentation skills, has a deep interest in developing insights and recommendations for senior management.
o Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
o Ability to act confidently and influence others across all levels of the organization.
o Experience in strategy, marketing, distribution and/or product management for a financial services business preferred.
Experience with advertising research, research supporting design projects or within a design firm and/or experience with research to redesign websites a plus o Excellent organizational and process management skills.
o An individual who can foster collaboration, engage and inspire people.
o Strong software and MS Office aptitude.
