WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 5-10 years experience in marketing/communications, ideally with some Financial Services Industry experience BA/BS Required.
Graduate degree preferred.

Sets goals and measures progress Brand expert - in-depth knowledge of The Hartford brand, its audiences, best practices and competitive happenings Must have a working knowledgeof: Strategic planning and business analysis Brand positioning Creative judgment Marketing principles and techniques Consumer research interpretation and analysis Project management Excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills are essential, as this position will communicate strategies and plans to senior management on a regular basis, sometimes including the Office of the Chairman Proven track record of preparing effective high visibility marketing communications Must be a strong strategic thinker with ability to work within ambiguity and adaptable to sudden changes in circumstances Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work on high profile projects within a matrix organization is essential Must have strong working knowledge of Insurance and Financial Services Industry Knowledge of The Hartford policies and regulations Accountabilities: Achieve improvement on Brand image measures Improve Business Unit perception of partnership and ideas Develop Ideas/programs executed which are based on customer insight External Working Relationships: Communication Suppliers & Consultants: Manage relationships with numerous suppliers and external consultants WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? Position is responsible for managing enterprise-wide initiatives, programs, and activities related to branding, advertising and corporate identity.
This includes providing vision/direction, consultation, leading projects, and evaluating the effectiveness of all branding efforts.
Position manages the brand's marketing plans and implement its tactics, including advertising, promotions and communications.
Ensure long-term development of brand franchise equities by: Strengthening and extending brand use in BU efforts Developing and sustaining superior branded imagery Ensuring superior quality of communications Measuring/tracking progress Position specifically accountable for partnership with Life Division and development of overall Corporate Brand.
JOB DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead Annual Planning: Develop annual Corporate Relations Plan and Brand Plan based on company-wide strategy; Lead long-term advertising and brand planning process with business units Help drive continued improvement of Brand Building efforts: (Brand Advertising - Creative and Media - and NCAA Sponsorship Lead development of a "Recruitment Marketing Plan as part of overall integrated effort to position The Hartford for success in those key growth areas Lead and develop positioning, creative and media plan for Business Unit Trade advertising that directly support sales goals for IPD, Individual Life and GBD Execute annual marketing/advertising plans by implementing tactical plans.
Evaluate progress against plans and recommend corrective action as needed.
Advice on key strategic recommendations Be brand and advertising experts and provide marketing insights to business units on competitors, value propositions, positioning, and the overall media landscape.
Develop relevant insights into key audiences including customers and intermediaries Develop quarterly Mutual Fund business review based on monthly Mutual Fund sales and market share analysis Lead Corporate Reputation studies (Corebrand, Fortune, PSB) and present findings and recommendations to senior management WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION OPPORTUNITY?
