Quality Assurance/Reliability Engineer
Reliability/Quality Assurance Engineer Represent Quality Assurance to Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to promote the continual improvement of design quality, inherent reliability, manufacturability and product quality.
This position will be responsible for supporting all facets of reliability engineering including developing strategy and using effective reliability engineering disciplines and methodologies in areas such as: - Product qualification, - Reliability growth and monitor, - Provide failure rates and failure mode trend analysis of returns and identify opportunities to improve reliability of the product.
- Perform Reliability Analysis and Estimates, predict failure rates, correlate field failure rates to results obtained through accelerated reliability tests in the laboratory.
Generate reliability analysis reports.
- Establish and Manage Ongoing Reliability Monitoring program, reliability database reports-metrics.
- Define reliability requirements for changes to existing product as well as for new product.
- Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the reliability required for the particular situation.
- Ensure qualifications meet or exceed applicable standards or other relevant required industry reliability standards for products.
(No Clean, Lead free etc) - Support, Product transfer, PPAP, regulatory requirements etc. - On a program basis, review and analyze the overall results of troubleshooting and corrective action systems to ascertain a measure of achieved reliability.
Evaluate all field failure data against this measure and initiate an investigation and subsequent corrective action whenever field performance is incompatible with documented in-house performance.
Education - Candidate should have a minimum BS technical degree, ieEE, RE, ME, QAE Experience - 5-7 years of broad technical experience, of which five years should be in Reliability Engineering.
- Background of working in the areas of engineering and technical operations.
- Experience in reliability engineering at the design level of product development.
- Experience in Design and Process FMEA and PPAP studies.
- Experience in dealing one on one with internal customers on sensitive issues regarding product quality and reliability.
Requirements: - Knowledge of database and spreadsheet software (Access, File Manager, excel,minitab, etc.) - Strong interpersonal skills, interfacing with design engineering and manufacturing relating to reliability findings and follow-up.
- Strong statistical knowledge and a firm understanding of reliability work.
