Network Technician
Network Operations Tech- Spanish- Interesting Opportunity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Corning's Operations department is a Global Support and Communications team that operates 7x24x365.
The department is a 1st/2nd/3rd Level Support team that monitors, analyzes and resolves problems with hardware and software in addition to fulfilling service requests.
The department is made up of three static shifts with 5 rotating positions within each shift.
The rotations are made every two months.
Regular work schedule is four 10 hour days per week.
An individual will be required to work some weekends and holidays.
An individual will be required to attend some meetings outside normally scheduled hours that are team and/or project related.
An individual may be required to lead meetings for different team events due to the diversity in which the Operations team is part of. With the diversity of interactions with various teams, Operations has become a talent pool for Corning IT to leverage.
Education: - Typically has an Associates degree with 1-3 years experience or may have 5+ years proven experience.
Specific Knowledge and Skills Required: - Knowledge of Windows XP Client Operating Systems - Knowledge of NT/2000/2003 Server Operating Systems - Knowledge of and experience in Active Directory - account management, security group management - Knowledge of and experience with Exchange 2003 " mailbox administration - Knowledge of and experience with Lotus Notes v.
6. x " account administration - Experienced troubleshooting server/client problems (hardware/software) - Experienced troubleshooting network problems (WAN/LAN) - Must speak fluent English and Spanish.
Additional Knowledge and Skills looking for: - AS/400 - Basic Programming Skills in VB, Java, SQL, .Net - Linux RedHat Administration Support General Competencies - Problem Analysis: Forming an opinion or making a decision through careful testing of assumptions and facts; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
- Process Improvement: Evaluating existing processes and identifying more efficient ways to accomplish goals and meet customer and client requirements; continuously improving the processes through regular assessment and adjustment.
- Planning and Organizing: Establishing courses of action to ensure that work is completed efficiently in light of the strategies and destination of the department and/or organization.
- Attention to Detail: Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.
- Communicating Effectively: Conveying information and ideas in a clear, meaningful, and timely manner; providing information to ensure understanding; solicits input from the audience during the communication.
- Pursuing Innovation: Generating innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and creative ways to deal with work problems and opportunities; seeks and implements new and better ways to achieve results.
