Manufacturing Engineer

Protedyne is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to be the liaison between manufacturing and engineering.
Develops and implements cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
Manages configuration control and Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
Responsibilities: MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING: Lead manufacturing engineering efforts and act as the primary conduit to communicate status and needs to Engineering.
Develop and improve manufacturing processes and methods for quality and efficiency improvement.
Investigate parts design and manufacturing issues and propose and author ECO corrective actions.
Design and procure tools and equipment to enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency.
Create and implement *best method* manufacturing process to ensure smooth flow of products from initial machining through assembly and shipping.
Develop manufacturing processes and create work instructions for new products and changes in existing products.
Proactively work with supply chain to identify and implement cost reduction on sourced materials.
Lead the effort to identify and implement cost effective out-sourcing strategies.
DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT & CONTROL: Responsible for engineering document control and overall ECO process.
Assure all documents have critical specifications to assure quality supply and assembly of materials.
Maintain Item Master and Bills of Material in ERP system.
Verify manufacturing compliance and inventory disposition in accordance with approved ECO's.
Conduct scheduled Bill of Material audits Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
Previous experience with 3-D CAD Must be proficient in SolidWorks.
5-7 years experience in manufacturing engineering.
Strong knowledge of machining, metalworking and assembly processes including tools and fixturing Must have FMEA experience.
QA experience essential.
Experience in working directly with suppliers to improve quality and lower costs Must have understanding of ERP systems.
Must have direct experience in Engineering Change Processing.
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
