SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER II
Located in northeast San Antonio, Texas, Friedrich Air Conditioning Co is seeking an individual to fill the above referenced position.
This position has the primary responsibility to support and continuously improve the quality of purchased parts.
This should be accomplished by actively participating in the product development process, supplier selection, and the sourcing process.
Through the effective development and execution of these processes the Supplier Quality Engineer is to develop statistically valid metrics reflecting critical quality and business requirements for all suppliers.
Activities in support of these processes include, but are not limited to, the following: Work with manufacturing, engineering, and the supplier to identify and resolve part level quality issues.
Determine the root cause and the required corrective action.
Follow up to ensure corrective actions are in place.
Coordinate certain supplier-related technical aspects of the new part sourcing and introduction process.
Ensure that supplier-related engineering changes are implemented effectively and in a timely manner.
Perform on-site audits of supplier quality systems and manufacturing processes and present findings.
Manage contract auditors and inspection services worldwide.
Compile, prepare and distribute supplier performance metric reports, both internally and to the Suppliers.
Development and administration of the supplier corrective action process.You should have: A 4 year degree in Engineering, (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or Applied Sciences (Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry).
Minimum 3 Years Experience related to Supplier Quality, and 2 years experience related to Project Management.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor preferred (RAB Certification Desirable) Knowledge and high proficiency of various software programs including Microsoft Office Application programs (ie Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, etc) Strong verbal and written communication skills.
