QUALITY PROG MGR 3
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for management, development or reengineering of critical programs and business processes related to WWOPS Quality Systems mission and goals including Corrective & Preventative Action System (CPAS), WWOPS Governance Model, Customer Intensive Care (CIC), and other business processes.
This person will be responsible for delivering measurable cost savings and product quality improvements resulting from advances in Sun's ability to detect, evaluate and remediate quality defects quickly.
This individual will also: Be responsible for creation of management communications for assigned projects.
Effectively deal with complex problems and eliminate barriers to successs.
Provide team leadership and be a model of WWOPS Quality System Dept.
vision and mission Conceptualize, propose, lead, promote or participate in WWOPS Quality wide strategic initiatives.
Be responsible for delivering critical projects within given time lines.
Be able to utilize the appropriate forums and reports to communicate status and issues.
Manage and escalate issues effectively to senior management.
Be a motivated self starter able to work independently as well as a team environment.
Be comfortable resolving complex issues across levels and organizations.
Work closely with key teams in WWOPS to help develop future strategies for Quality Management tools, systems, and processes to best support WWOPS, SMI, and SMI's customers.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Statistical Analysis Skill HTML REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Extensive Program or Project Management background and experience.
Sun or Six Sigma certification or training.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, team leadership and meeting management skills.
Sound analytical and decision making skills.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Ability to objectively analyze processes and create viable strategies to drive improvements.
Understanding of Sun CAP and ability to influence people in a highly decentralized environment.
Must possess technical knowledge of Sun Products and general Sun business knowledge Possess core understanding of the quality metrics, failure data, and the methods necessary to properly analyze that data and derive accurate business conclusions and decisions.
Ability to understand Sun's strategic direction and to develop and improve business processes that build on that strategy.
Understanding of customer CTQs and their relationship to our processes and product quality.
Experience with business process development and reengineering Familiarity with: Sun product line, Sun's field operations, WWOPS processes YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6+ Years MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BA/BS FIELD OF STUDY: Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management ADDITIONAL COURSE WORK: HJ / Certified Sun Sigma qualification is desirable
