Company: The Home Depot Supply Job ID: 38827 Position Title: DRIVER - UTILITIES - Corinth, Tx Working Location: TX - Fort Worth Employment Status: Full-Time Required Experience: 1+ years Required Education: HS Diploma/GED Travel Required: 0 Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE The Driver contributes to the goal of exceptional service in meeting the delivery schedule, taking action when needed to communicate and resolve customer problems, and representing the company in a positive manner in all customer interactions.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Completedeliveries on schedule and interface with customers effectively.
Assist in loading and unloading of vehicle.
Verify order to ensure correct products loaded.
Meet all company standards and DOT requirements for vehicles and Drivers.
Conduct daily preventive maintenance checks daily prior to beginning deliveries.
All other tasks as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE Typically reports to a Manager in a DC/Warehouse/Yard location.
This position has no direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be eighteen years of age Must pass the Drug Test Must pass the Background Check Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable EDUCATION REQUIRED - Minimal or no educational requirement for this job. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 0 CERTIFICATES/LICENSES - PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES Previous experience in commercial driving of a 24 stake/flatbed/box truck or ability to drive 5 speed truck with air brake certification may be required.
Meet all applicable DOT requirements.
Knowledge of the local driving area and map reading.
CDL class B or A may be required.
Strong customer service orientation and problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills.
