Company: The Home Depot Supply Job ID: 38838 Position Title: DISTRUBUTION CENTER MANAGER - UTILITIES - Oklahoma, Ok Working Location: OK - Oklahoma City Employment Status: Full-Time Required Experience: 5+ years Required Education: HS Diploma/GED Travel Required: 0 Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE Staffs, organizes, and directs operations within a Distribution Center to effectively manage the receipt, storage, selection, packaging, loading, and shipping of products to multiple locations in B2B and/or traditonal distribution capacity which may include the management of fleet operations.

This position will operate as a a strategic partner with logisitcs and supply chain management in estasblishing and adhering to operating budgets.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials.

Maintains records of inventories and location for production control and cost accounting.

Participates in the development of strategy that outlines the capacity planning requirements.

Responsible for enforcing company policies of conduct and safety and initiates disciplinary action.

Identifies the causes of product losses and takes corrective action.

Communicates with merchants on product mix and quality of merchandise.

Develops and maintain relationships with carriers and vendors to assure quality carrier service that delivers products to the stores in an effective, efficient, and economical manner.

Partners with store personnel, merchants, and district managers in effective utilization of Distribution Center resources.

Analyzes current procedures and new ideas to improve current productivity and efficiencies.

Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff.

NATURE AND SCOPE Direct reports generally include Assistant Managers with a technical support/administrative/clerical staff of one to nineteen and a warehouse staff.

Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.

Typically procedures for analyzing situations and making conclusions are diverse.

Typically considers among many different options or procedures when solving problems.

Typically expected to provide infrequent status reports to management only as appropriate.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Typically in a comfortable environment There may be regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes.

Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be eighteen years of age Must pass the Drug Test Must pass the Background Check Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5 CERTIFICATES/LICENSES - PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree is preferred.

Five to eight years experience preferred specifically in DC facilities of 100,000 square feet or more.

Logisitics certification.

Previous experience in fleet management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES Typically requires logistics, transportation, management, warehouse, and space management knowledge.

Typically requires ability to use computer systems/PCs, and familiarization with systems, reports, procedures, etc. Typically requires flexibility, problem solving, and organization skills.

Typically requires coaching, counseling, leadership, and people management skills.

Typically requires written and verbal communication skills.

Typically requires financial planning and budgeting skills to complete annual operating budgets and capital requirements planning.

Knowledge of dedicated delivery process and/or carrier services to comply with DOT requirements.
