COMMODITY MANAGER 3
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position will support VSO's x86 product line.
The candidate will be responsible for managing system level suppliers and associated system unique commodities.
A key part of this role will be developing supplier relationships as well as Sun's internal tools/model to leverage the business partners core capabilities/business requirements and optimize Sun's unique value add. Individual will manage the development and implementation of commodity and supplier strategies; facilitate the alignment of sourcing model and supply chain strategies with the business unit/product roadmap; manage product sourcing, contracts and supplier development/performance; aggressively manage cost/cost and rebate ( as applicable) models to assure assigned products meet cost/performance competitive targets.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Inventory Management Planning and Forecasting Purchasing Customer Service Order Fulfillment Finance REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Global Supply Chain Design Six Sigma Logistics Management Supply Chain Management Strategic Commodity Management Program Management ODM/OEM Procurement PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor Science MBA Preferred Global Supply Chain Design Six Sigma Logistics Management Procurement Strategic Commodity Management Strategic Planning Program Management YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 15 MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BS/BA, MBA preferred FIELD OF STUDY: Business ADDITIONAL COURSE WORK: HJ / Operations
