Senior Manager, Financial Analysis We are seeking an experienced financial professional to fill a new senior level financial analyst position reporting directly to the firms Chief Financial Officer.
This position will work closely with firm management to
1. develop a framework for analyzing firm profitability by office, by department, by practice area, and by client or matter using both established analytical methods and creative approaches
2. be intricately involved in the formulation of all client billing arrangements with partners and the proper tracking of those arrangements in the financial system
3. be responsible for formulating and producing reports, analyzing the data and making recommendations that will positively impact firm profitability; interact directly with partners on special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
The successful incumbent in this position must quickly acquire an in-depth understanding of the special billing arrangements in effect for each of our clients and how those arrangements impact financial results for the firm.
The person must also develop a close working relationship with all members of the Accounting and Finance management team, including the Director of Finance, the Senior Manager of Billing and Collections and the budget manager, in addition to stakeholders outside of the department.
The ideal candidate must have: · Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance · A minimum of ten years of financial analysis and business management experience · Technical expertise, with extensive knowledge of Excel required.
· Superior written and oral communication skills and ability to interact well with partners, senior management, peers and staff · Ability to set priorities and manage multiple deadlines; a self-starter · A proven track record of maintaining high quality work standards, taking charge, being hands-on, exacting attention to detail and prioritizing and performing effectively under pressure · Strong leadership and management skills · Analytical and strategic mindset · Comfort in working in a high-charged, fast-paced environment · High energy and enthusiasm; flexible thought and style · High tolerance for change, ambiguity and differences of opinion · High integrity and ethical standards Preferred qualifications include · CPA or MBA. Familiarity with the drivers of law firm economics is a strong advantage · Related experience in a major law firm or similar type of professional services firm environment · Familiarity with Elite, law firm profitability tools, such as Intellistat, and SQL We offer an excellent benefits package and salary commensurate with experience.
