We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for a Career Associate in our Litigation practice group.
The Litigation Career Associate is a non-partner track attorney role that is available to perform high quality legal and legislative research for our clients.
This role provides business development and litigation support to attorneys in the firm's Litigation Group.
This position is responsive to all offices where there is a Litigation presence.
Under the direct supervision of responsible attorneys in multiple practice offices, this attorney works to support the needs of the Litigation Group on both client and non-billable matters.
The incumbent in this role must possess high levels of legal skill and attention to detail as well as the ability to communicate effectively.
This position will require extensive contact with Litigation attorneys in all US Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP practice offices.
While Litigation Career Associates are expected to work relatively independently on discrete issues and projects, the attorneys in the Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP practice offices are charged with direct supervision.
Qualifications: JD or LLM degree issued by an accredited law school in the US required Member in good standing of the bar of a US state or territory required Must have excellent legal research, writing, and interpersonal skills Must exercise independent judgment and be comfortable being remotely supervised by attorneys in other practice offices A demonstrated high level of academic achievement preferred Participation on a law school review or journal preferred 0-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or judicial clerkship role preferred Orrick offers a friendly work environment, competitive salary, and excellent benefits.
