Blue Shield is currently looking for a highly detailed ContractAnalyst/specialist to join Custom Contract Development department.
The positionwill be reporting to the Team Leader for Custom Accounts, The Custom teamprepares all custom group contracts and Evidence of Coverage and Disclosure Formbooklets, Blue Shield Life policies accompanying custom group health coverage,and Administrative Services Only Agreements and prepares language for filingwith the DMHC when necessary.
This position is based out of our San Francisco Headquarters.
Responsibilities include the following: · Analyzing, proofreading, inserting accurate details into booklets andcontracts for all Blue Shield products and lines of business.
· Assists in selection or development of appropriate contract clauses, revisingexisting contracts based on renegotiated provisions.
· Composes drafts detailing benefits and exclusions on contracts, endorsements,policies and certificates.
· Analyzes resources and technical materials to develop Evidence of Coveragebooklets, benefit inserts, disclosure forms and other related printed materials.
· Assists in material layout, distribution of booklets.
· Enters new and revised drafts for production, assist and execute productionprocess.
· Confers with outside printers and vendors regarding manuscript changes.
· Responds to inquiries from internal and external sources to clarify details ofprinted materials.
· Maintains awareness of legislative and corporate policy changes that mayimpact contracts and related benefit materials, recommends changes and preparesupdates to ensure compliance.
· Reviews booklets to ensure compliance with contract provisions and recommendschanges when appropriate.
· Maintains production records and prepares status reports.
Maintains andupdates procedures for files.
Education/Requirements: Generally requires a Bachelorīs degree or equivalent work experience andmoderate experience in health care, legal services or investigative services.
Detail oriented, organizational skills, and accuracy is a must.
You should beflexible and be able to multitask.
· Working knowledge of PCs and related software applications.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, contractprovision or benefit plans.
· Ability to apply technical writing skills utilizing contract terminology.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions fromgroups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concretevariables in situations where limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram or schedule form.
