Lead Security Office

1. Provide shift leadership to Belo Security Officers.

Provide timely and effective service when security problems arise.

Assist subordinate officers when unusual or exceptionally difficult problems arise.

2. Performs all of the essential duties and job responsibilities of the Security Officer when called upon in order to minimize overtime.

Provides lunch and break relief for Security Officers when necessary.

3. Interfaces daily with employees and management to explain policy and procedures such as parking regulations, visitor/delivery procedures and employee ID requirements.

4. Assist the Manger/Security Operations with the administration of Belos physical security program in North Texas.

5. Ensures the regulation of access to Belos North Texas facilities and the control of traffic flow to facilitate optimum protection for the company and its employees.

6. May act as a liaison with and assist outside law enforcement authorities, fire officials and EMS personnel on Belo properties.

7. Handles confidential and/or proprietary information and/or data.

May be called upon to assist in highly confidential internal investigations or projects.

On those occasions, the incumbent must be trusted to not share information with anyone without Belo Security Management approval, not even a fellow Security Supervisor.

8. Provides emergency first aid, medical, CPR, other assistance as required, including the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

9. Trains, motivates and develops security personnel to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the shift.

Develops security personnel performance by conducting Performance Evaluations through an active Coaching Program.

10. Prepares schedules and assignments to ensure that all critical areas and assets are protected.

Schedules Security Officer vacation and time off requests in a way that minimizes overtime.

Enforces the departments vacation/holiday request guidelines.

11. Enforces all departmental guidelines.

12. Supports management by recommending and enforcing security programs, policies and goals to enhance the protection of Belo assets.

Implements and maintains measures to limit/prevent the potential for illegal activities, such as theft or employee misconduct.

13. Performs related duties as assigned which may not be specifically listed in the job description, but which are within the general occupational series and responsibility level associated with the incumbents class of work.

Education/experience · College degree and a minimum of 5 years of security experience is preferred with direct people management experience.

A college degree and related security experience may be substituted for the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities required.

· Skills & Requirements · This position impacts quality and customer satisfaction by protecting company property, personnel, guests, and visitors against illegal entry, theft, safety hazards, and criminal activity.

Stellar customer service is a requirement.

· Supervisory and leadership skills, as well as knowledge of safety issues and physical, personnel and information security are required.

· Must have a valid drivers license to operate patrol vehicle on company property and externally.

· Must have the necessary certification in order to provide emergency first aid and/or CPR for company personnel, visitors and guests.

· Must have working knowledge of all posts and patrols and be proficient in the operation of various alarm systems, portable radio equipment and other security-related equipment.

· Appropriate computer knowledge and skills in order to operate various software based security equipment.
