Technical Writer, Operations - Phoenix
Technical Writer, Operations - PhoenixThis position is based in Phoenix, AZ. Google is looking for exceptional Technical Writers to support our growing operations groups.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding writer who has a proven ability to manage projects and a working knowledge of corporate or datacenter operations.
In addition to having absolute command over basic skills, you need to be someone who can recognize needs, gather requirements, determine appropriate deliverables, initiate projects, and see the work through to completion.
Responsibilities include: Improving the quality and coverage of internal documentation.
Working with management to identify and prioritize needed documents.
Developing rapport with Operations Engineering teams and promoting good documentation practices.
Reviewing and editing engineering documents, helping engineers improve their writing skills as needed.
Writing many types of documents, including procedures, FAQs, conceptual overviews, and policy guidelines.
Driving document review and approval process.
Acting as the designated contact for documentation improvements.
Contributing to the overall structure of the documentation set. Requirements: BA or BS plus 5 years experience, or MS plus 3 years experience.
Ability to understand technology, demonstrated either by an engineering degree, 3+ years of engineering experience, or 5+ years as a writer of high-quality technical documentation.
Demonstrated excellence in writing clearly and concisely.
Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
