IT System Administrator/Security Administrator Job Description: Perform customer and company installations, configuring, testing, maintaining, supporting and documenting computer and network hardware, software applications, and operating systems.

Design, implement and maintain procedures, tools and techniques for assuring network, server, and user equipment security Research product availability and pricing.

Evaluate relative price-value comparisons, and provide basic cost-benefit recommendations.

Prepare and submit purchase order requests.

Maintain an inventory of hardware, software, and miscellaneous related computer and network supplies for immediate and/or planned future use. Install operating systems, applications, utilities, and custom software on new and existing machines.

Configure software on servers and workstations to perform designated roles.

Troubleshoot monitor and maintain software and repair or replace defective computer components and network devices as needed.

Support enterprise backup system using a media rotation scheme to preserve valuable data collected from distributed systems across the network.

Verify and maintain backup script configuration of backed up files to ensure accurate restore capability.

Retrieve and restore data as needed.

Maintain and monitor application software, system software, logs and backup support continuously during work hours and on-call during off-hours.

Monitor and maintain systems for security purposes.

Provide administration support of Microsoft SQL 2000 and Visual Source Safe Code repository.

Work with production and mirror environments and coordinate with co-workers on network, application, and security decisions.

Provide instruction, assistance, and thorough technical support to all company users.

Manage implementation of regular security scans and detection of vulnerabilities.

Work closely with 3rd party companies to ensure latest security fixes are tested and deployed securely.

Work with a team of IT professionals in the 24x7x365 operation as an Application Service Provider of product to Fortune 500 companies.

Requirements: Expertise with Windows 2000 and 2003 Server setup and configuration, patches and intricate knowledge of windows services Expertise in security related tasks and maintenance of IDS, HIPS and other such security software and tools.

Ability to support end user problems and product customer support with configuration Working knowledge of networks, switches, hubs, network topology, TCP-IP, Routing, Firewalls, VPN, NAT, VLAN, SMTP, Active Directory, DNS, Fax servers, SSL certificates, Domain maintenance, user management, patches, security and the ability to organize events on task and on schedule.

Ability to demonstrate tactical skills on problem resolution in an efficient manner.

Proficient in Office products such as Word, Excel, and Visio.

Excellent verbal and written skills.

Ability to learn new skills quickly.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Desired Additional Capabilities: Familiar with SQL 2000 database maintenance including backup and restore of database files Windows XP desktop setup and configuration.
