Senior Systems Administrator
Venture backed ASP media marketplace startup is looking for an exceptional contributor to take lead in managing our development and server infrastructure as well as work closely with customers in handling data integration projects.
This position of Senior Systems Administrator would include the following responsibilities: Install, configure and maintain servers and network operations.
Establish monitoring and testing tools.
Ensure 24x7 non stop operation.
Assist with Customer Data Integration and Sales Engineering Support Requirements: BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of systems support in commercial environment.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
Unix/Linux scripting, such as Perl/shell.
Knowledge of RedHat based distributions (esp RHEL4), Debian knowledge useful.
Must have knowledge of supporting and maintaining clustered Java/Tomcat based applications/application servers.
Experience with open source products such as Apache, MySQL, Lucene, Subversion, Bugzilla, Linux, Tomcat.
Knowledge of web servers, firewalls/security, NIS/NFS, DNS, MTAs.
RH ES 4, GFS, Disaster Recovery.
Experience working in a failsafe, load balanced, high availability environment.
Excellent verbal and written skills with outstanding customer service.
Bonus: Database Optimization Understanding of XML/XSLT/AJAX Due to the rapidly changing nature of our business, we need someone who is versatile and highly adaptable.
