Project Manager
Project Manager Summary: This position will be a core member of the SideStep product development team, committed to combining the best attributes of online search and online travel.
SideStep's award-winning products help millions of consumers save both time and money.
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Project Manager with a technical background and strong leadership skills to work with external partners, as well as internal engineering, product management, and user experience teams to facilitate the prioritization and delivery of product development initiatives.
This position will report to the Vice President of Product Development.
Responsibilities: Create and manage prioritized project timelines and budgets.
Work to communicate schedules, identify risks, and ensure that deadlines are met. - Manage day to day operational, project and resource allocation and risk mitigation.
- Make recommendations on how to best approach development projects keeping in mind business goals.
- Work with external partners to coordinate and manage deliverables.
- Know at all times the health of projects, risks and implications to timelines.
- Identify issues and risks proactively, make recommendations on resolutions.
- Work with engineering, product development, QA, Ops and other departments to resolve resource and schedule conflicts and dependencies.
Requirements: Outstanding communication and excellent documentation skills.
Proven experience leading multiple concurrent projects with successful delivery in a fast-paced environment Solid understanding of web technology and web-based software development lifecycles (Agile Processes is a plus), including user interface issues and quality assurance.
Technical understanding of software architecture and software development concepts.
General understanding of Java development and web application development experience including XML, SOAP, RSS, and web services Highly organized and extremely detail oriented.
BS degree in technical discipline or other area with equivalent technical work experience.
5+ years of related experience 3+ years of experience as a project or program manager for an Internet company.
