Project Manager: Walmart.com
Project Manager Walmart Global eCommerce To leverage our scale and drive efficiencies as we pursue new e-commerce opportunities around the globe, we are creating a new business unit that will be responsible for driving online growth around the world – both in developed markets where we currently have stores and an online presence and in markets where we don’t.
The objectives of this business unit will include (1) development and execution of a global strategy for e-commerce; (2) establishing of cross-functional and cross-border Walmart relationships designed to accelerate and broaden our growth in the global online channel; and (3) the creation of technology platforms and applications that can be used effectively in every Walmart market.
The Project Manager has day-to-day responsibility for managing multiple projects of moderate to high complexity to completion.
S/he will coordinate the activities of multiple cross-functional teams to complete projects in support of Walmart Global eCommerce’s business strategy and objectives.
The Project Manager may sometimes fill a program management role with other project managers reporting to them.
• Project Management (90%) o Understand and drive project through its lifecycle phases to successful completion as defined in project’s charter o Develop and maintain project schedule, identify and track milestones and identify and manage cross functional dependencies.
o Prepare and maintain a Project Risk Assessment; develop and execute plans for managing risk.
o Escalate project related issues to appropriate levels of management in accordance with PMM guidelines and requirements o Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders and management o Manage project change control process o Conduct project according to the principals and processes defined in Walmart Global eCommerce PMM o Form, motivate and lead high-performance cross functional teams o Coordinate production issue resolution on an on-call basis o Deliver a consistent and high quality service to our customers; become a value adding partner • Practice Development (10%) o Adheres to the principals of the Walmart Global eCommerce PMM o Evangelizes the principals and business value of the PMM throughout the organization o Actively lead and contributes to the development and evolution of the Walmart Global eCommerce PMM. o Builds effective partnerships with the SEMs, Architects and Product Managers• Must have a minimum of five years of recent project management experience and have demonstrated expert knowledge skills and abilities in project management.
• Demonstrated experience with content acquisition and integration.
• Prior experience in e-commerce or customer-centric fields • Experience using several software development methodologies (Waterfall and Agile ideal) • Excellent verbal and written communications skills • Proven ability and interest in implementing projects and change across business and engineering landscapes and establishing collaborative partnerships with external organizations and internal business lines.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast paced, growing environment.
• Strong MS Project aptitude.
• BS/BA required, advanced degree in technology a plus, PMP certification preferred.
