Power Engineer - Mountain View
Power Engineer - Mountain ViewThis position is based in Mountain View, CA. Google is looking for an outstanding Power Engineer to join our world-class server design team.
The ideal candidate will have a solid hardware design background and a basic knowledge of system architecture.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and be directly involved in the design and analysis of board level power distribution and conversion.
Responsibilities: Electrical design of dc-dc converters.
Layout of high density dc-dc converters.
Analysis of operational performance.
Power flow, short circuit, stability, and post-transient analyses.
Evaluation and testing.
Requirements: BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines (PhD a plus).
Deep understanding and experience with board level power conversion.
Experience with electric power conversion concepts and selection of conversion equipment.
Experience with harmonic analysis, fault analysis, circuit protection, and system stability.
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas with people from diverse educational, experiential, and cultural backgrounds.
Very good understanding of analog fundamentals in the design of power electronics.
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to detail; ability and commitment to produce a timely and highly accurate work product.
The desire and ability to become an integral part of our highly creative, fast moving development team.
7+ years power conversion design related experience.
Outstanding recommendations related to power design.
