Oracle DBA
Oracle DBA with UNIX Credit Suisse is seeking a highly skilled/motivated Oracle DBA for our FID DBA team.
This person will be cross-trained to IBM UDB and will provide continued pro-active support for Oracle and UDB and help with the eventual migration of UDB to Oracle of the LoanIQ system.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities of the Role: The successful candidate will be located in Raleigh, NC, and be a member of a global team of highly proficient and talented DBAs.
Candidate will initially be supporting FID database systems operating on a number of platforms predominantly Solaris, but going forward moving to RAC/Linux/Egenera.
The main responsibilities will necessitate providing Production/Development database support using the firms' standards, procedures and tools.
Main duties will include: -Building servers including monitoring configuration and set up of comprehensive housekeeping jobs.
-Providing ongoing space management and executing pro-active maintenance.
-Planning and conducting upgrades.
-Assisting application team with database design and communicating best practices to ensure deployment of efficient/quality code.
This may include performance and tuning advice prior to live implementation.
-Providing intra-day second line support on production issues referred over by "Follow the Sun Support" (FTSS) Team.
-Applying data fixes and application changes under change control may be intra-day/evening/weekend.
-Hands on trouble shooting database related issues, investigate and coordinate resolution rollout with application team -Communicate technical terms well to application/business users (none-technical) -Self starter, works well within and between teams of various disciplines -Support DB2 UDB (with SQL replication) environments for the first 6 month -Participate in DB2 UDB to Oracle migration Special circumstances: The role requires the DBA to provide on-call production support for all US databases.
This is for a period of a week (including the weekend) and currently operates approximately one week in every six. There may also be additional requirements for weekend work.
This is typically for database changes requested by the business.
Skills and Experience: Essential: -BS Degree -3 years DBA experience -Oracle 8i/9i -10gUNIX Shell Scripting -PL/SQL Programming- -Database Performance Tuning Desired Skills: -IT or Business/Finance related Degree -Oracle 10g -RAC -RMAN -DB2 UDB v8.
