Matthew Strassberg Recruiting Director Skyrocket Ventures Matthew [at] skyrocketventures [dot] com Director of Online MarketingSan Jose, CA About the Company This company is a profitable, rapidly-growing San Jose, CA, startup that allows people to collaboratively create photo books through a powerful online application.Job Description: The Director of Online Marketing position is responsible for developing and managing campaigns across all online channels, including Search, Affiliates, Social Media, Display, Email and any other places where we can find customers.
This is a challenging position you will be responsible for all online marketing efforts at the company, working closely with the marketing team to build campaigns that crush the competition and move the needle to drive huge growth multiples.
Though you will have savvy online marketers reporting to you, this is a hands-on position you will need to get down and dirty to hit the company's marketing goals.
Your Role: - Reporting directly the CEO, you will own all aspects of online marketing.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive online marketing strategy to reach the company's goals by acquiring customers and maximizing the customer Lifetime Value.
- Analyze performance of campaigns, closely measure results and aggressively pursue the most profitable opportunities.
- Implement tests and execute upon findings in the areas of effective copy-writing, user behavior, promotional effectiveness and landing page design.
- Build out campaigns across all channels, working with the marketing team to bring success in all areas of online marketing and customer acquisition.
- Work closely with the development team to launch new campaigns, landing pages and product improvements.
Qualifications: - 3+ years search marketing / search engine optimization experience- 5+ years online marketing experience- 3+ years experience with marketing through Affiliate Programs, Display, Email Marketing, CPA/CPL- Experience with partnership marketing / business development is a plus- Deep understanding of Search Engines and Search Technology- Incredibly strong understanding of metrics and how they drive success in online marketing.
- Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations- Advanced knowledge of direct marketing testing to draw statistically significant conclusions- Incredibly strong Excel skills.
You dream about pivot tables at night and Excel formulas are your second language.
- Experienced in HTML/CSS.
Experience with databases or Ruby on Rails is a plus.
- Strong communication skills - if you have a problem with something, you speak up.- Extremely hard working.
This is a start-up long hours should be afraid of you because you own them.
- Thrive on working with A-players.
Youre too good to spend long hours with B-players.
