Financial Analyst - Intermediate - Downey, CA Financial Analyst, Intermediate -- Downey, CA California Claims Administration Kaiser Permanente is hiring a Financial Analyst, Intermediate, for our California Claims Administration team in Downey, CA. The purpose of this position is to support operational and financial analysis and reporting, monthly close, and forecast/target/budget preparation processes by providing analysis and review for internal and external financial and operational reporting.

Primary focus of the position will be on operational and financial performance analyses and reporting, for example: - Reporting on and analysis of all aspects of claims production and other operations - Analysis and benchmarking of trends in claims receipts, production and regulatory compliance - Analysis of monthly expenses and posting of appropriate accruals - Ongoing analysis of budget variances and expense trends Major Responsibilities: - Work with the Lead and Senior Analysts to provide operational and financial analysis to support daily/weekly/monthly reporting and close processes - Assist in specified operational and financial reporting activities, and in the development of the annual budget, targets, forecasts, etc - Maintain specified operational and financial schedules - Prepare specified reports for management meetings - Special projects as directed by the Assistant Controller, Lead and Senior Analysts, and Operations Leaders.

Analyst will support other Finance staff (the Assistant Controller and the Lead and Senior Financial Analysts) in developing new databases and data repositories.

Analyst will also participate in the data acquisition process and validate the data received.

Analyst will work in a collaborative fashion with the other analysts within the Finance and System teams to share best practices and develop consistent processes and methodologies.

Analyst will work with a variety of customers to design and develop reports, presenting final product to other Finance staff for final approval.

Analyst will work with little direction in completing financial and utilization reports from existing databases.

Minimum Requirements: - Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience required.

- 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance position or equivalent experience required.

- Insurance or other healthcare industry experience is preferred.

- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) skills required.
