Responsibilities: Manager, Global Compensation Overview: The Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the research, analysis, design and implementation of relevant compensation initiatives that support the goals and objectives of client groups and maintains consistency with VeriSign's overall global compensation philosophy.
Responsibilities: ' Know and understand the client business to achieve an effective balance of fulfilling business compensation needs while maintaining adherence to company compensation philosophy ' Based on best practice information, gather and analyze marketplace information to remain current about compensation trends ' Management of a global team of compensation analysts including hiring, goal setting, regular communications, development, coaching, performance evaluation and feedback.
' Development and implementation of compensation plans, programs and processes to support VeriSign's compensation philosophy, strategies and principles ' Ensure compliance of compensation programs with legal and regulatory factors, finance, accounting and tax principles, and company guidelines and policies ' Leads the annual stock, salary planning and mid-year promotion programs including the development of the merit budgets and salary structure changes; training line-managers and Human Resources professionals; development of communication and project plans; and presenting analyses and recommendations to senior management ' Lead research and analysis of market data to ensure competitive compensation programs within the parameters set forth in the Company compensation guidelines ' Oversight of team's work on job design, job evaluation/leveling decisions ' Consult with management and employees on routine compensation matters by partnering with HR Business partners ' Develop training, educational and communication material for various audiences about compensation programs ' Formulates and recommends changes to the current compensation processes, procedures, and systems and leads project to document all processes ' Manages outside vendors on compensation salary surveys and creation of the web-based salary planning system ' Leads projects with HRIS and IS to determine the most effective way to provide compensation information to HR and line-managers ' Works with Finance and other departments on cost analyses for various compensation programs and presents findings and recommendations to senior HR team ' May partner with Senior Compensation Management on Executive Compensation projects ' Assessable by phone, and or email to provide a prompt response to client contact within as short a timeframe as possible ' Contribute as needed to achieve the goals of the overall compensation team Requirements: Qualifications: ' Typically requires a BA/BS degree, preferably with an emphasis in HR or Business, and a minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the HR field.
' Hi Tech experience preferred.
' CCP certification or course completion desir ' Requires broad expertise and knowledge of global compensation within the high technology industry and the ability to work on significant and highly complex issues where analysis requires evaluation of objective and subjective factors and to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways ' Possesses the ability to work independently, set priorities, and handle and/or lead global project teams in a highly demanding fast paced work environment ' Strong project management skills.
Must be detail oriented.
' Requires the ability to manage conflicting priorities, set priorities, plan work and follow-through to closure on commitments.
' Requires the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, influence key decisions and manage change up to executive management levels.
' Excellent listening and inquiry skills and can communicate at all levels of the organization ' Requires the ability to manage conflict when dealing with persuasive and difficult personalities while maintaining the business needs as a priority as well as the relationships need to remain effective.
' Must be able to effectively participate as member of cross-functional and cross divisional teams.
' Systems orientation and experience required, for example, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Mercer Prism/e-Prism, Watson Wyatt Rewards ' Ability to use MS Office Suite Excel, Word, PowerPoint ' Focus on the detail and accuracy of analysis and well as the ability to see the bigger picture ' Must be flexible and team oriented ' Some domestic and international travel is required.
