An abundance of opportunities awaits you. Responsibilities: Assessment, evaluation, diagnosis and referral of patients that present at SMC Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health Centers to insure the most appropriate and least restrictive level of care in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
The provision of crisis counseling and support to patients and family members who are experiencing serious psychological and psychoactive substance abuse disorders.
Qualifications: Masters degree in a behavioral health field, state certified or certifiable within 6 months from the date of employment.
Prefer previous crisis intervention experience.
A registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience in a psychiatric setting and one year of crisis intervention experience will be considered.
Must take a minimum of 5 on-call periods per month.
Masters degree preferred.
Must be able to work with a diverse population including child, adolescent, general adult, and older adult populations as demonstrated by knowledge of specific age appropriate assessment and treatment interventions.
Ability to identify the full spectrum of mental health and substance abuse disorders as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders for all age related populations and knowledge of all state and federal regulations that pertain to the treatment/transfer of psychiatric patients.
