Teacher Aide
Schedule: Days and hours will vary.
Shifts will be between the hours of 6:00am and 6:30pm.
Hours will vary between 24 and 39 hours per every two week pay period.
THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION AND DOES NOT INCLUDE BENEFITS! Location: Blodgett Child Development Center.
Job Description: Under the general direction of and with assistance of the Lead Teacher, Associate Teacher and the department management team, the Teacher Aide is responsible for carrying out developmentally appropriate activities with children, including but not limited to, assisting with play activities, diaper/clothing changes, meals/snacks and other self-care activities.
Promotes a positive self-image in children.
Prepares and cleans up activity and play areas.
Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification and First Aid training within one year of employment.
Other: Knowledge of the growth and development of children along with appropriate play activities.
Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents and co-workers.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Flexible and dependable.
Ability to actively play and supervise children and react quickly to prevent accidents.
Ability to lift children and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds 30-50% of the time.
Very frequent lifting, bending, pushing and/or pulling.
