Department: Client Services Schedule: Full-time regular, 40 hours/week Sunday 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Thursday 11:00am 7:30pm.
Education/License/Certification: BS/BA Degree in a Health Science field or Equivalent Combination of Education & Experience in a Clinical Laboratory Related field.
Qualifications: 3+ years experience working a high volume Clinical Laboratory setting, with demonstrated leadership/supervisory and training responsibility is required.
Excellent phone and customer support/service skills and experience, as well as basic personal computer and keyboard skills are required.
Experience with Lab Information Systems (LIS), order/data entry, LIS function/printer/PC/terminal troubleshooting, specimen processing, specimen problem troubleshooting, and results reporting are required.
Experience in developing and writing procedures and training materials, good verbal and written communication skills, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure are required.
Knowledge of and experience in quality management systems, e.
g., developing and monitoring quality indicators, and documenting, resolving, and tracking of quality issues is preferred.
Candidate must be able to work effectively in a `Labor/Management Partnership' environment.
Duties: Receives, investigates, resolves, and provides consultative support to address various client needs, issues, and/or problems relating, but not limited, to the appropriate use of the Regional Lab test menu, specimen requirements, results turn-around-time, monitoring of the transplant line, and tracking of specimens and pending test orders.
Conducts and oversees the recruitment, hiring, training, and orientation of department personnel, ensures their competency and motivates the staff to encourage personal and professional growth.
Responsible for directing and supporting CSPA operations, including pre and post analytic specimen processing and other related functions.
Schedules and monitors preventive maintenance on all automation and LIS hardware, establishes, monitors and maintains periodic quality assurance checks, analyzes system and process failures and develops corrective action.
Maintains the specimen tracking system(s), performs data entry (while serving in the capacity of LIS Super-user), troubleshoots Kaiser Medical Center-Regional Laboratory Quality Management reports generated by the LIS, monitors client (internal and external) interactions, develops, writes, and updates Client Services and CSPA policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as required.
The position is located at the Berkeley Campus but may be assigned to Marina Way South campus as required.
