DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy SCHEDULE: Full-time regular; 40hrs/week; Monday-Friday; Scheduled hours vary; Schedules may vary to meet operational need.
EDUCATION: BS minimum; Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree with certification in Physical Therapy or foreigned trained equivalent.
Licensed to practice physical therapy by the State of California.
CPR certified required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Physical Therapy; CPR REQUIRED SKILLS TESTING: N/A POSITION SUMMARY: See Duties.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment in the Stockton, Manteca and Modesto Physical Therapy dept.
DUTIES: Evaluate patient.
Interprets evaluation finding to determine the nature and extent of dysfunction.
Establishes treatment goals and plans treatment to achieve established goals.
Initiates discharge planning for physical therapy.
Implements the treatment program through direct treatment to the patient.
Delegates a portion of the treatment program to appropriate, supportive personnel, and coordinates the treatment program with other health care personnel.
Provides advice and education to patients.
Regularly reassesses clinical signs and symptoms to determine effectiveness of treatment.
Progresses patient towards goals and the need for modifying of treatment.
Discharges patient from physical therapy when the patient has received maximum benefit from physical therapy.
Provides accurate, timely documentation of physical therapy patient management.
Therapist must participate in appropriate and approved educational and clinical research activities in physical therapy.
Participate in specialized care clinics outside the department.
Assist in the development, implementation, and review of departmental care programs.
Perform other duties as needed in the areas of staff education, including department operations and departmental projects.
In addition, must have good customer service and communication skills and work well with team members and providers.
