SENIOR APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER Medical Doctor Associates, the leader in locum tenens physician staffing, seeks an experienced Senior Applications Developer to join their IS team at the company corporate headquarters in Norcross, GA. This full-time position will report directly to the Vice President of Information Systems and will be the Manager and Project Leader for building an in house development team.

The primary focus of this team will be on n-tier architecture, distributed applications, and smart-client technology based on the Microsoft .NET Framework and various other Microsoft platforms and tools, including SQL Server and SharePoint products and technologies.

Responsibilities will include participation in architecture design and development, application GUI design, business analysis and application deployment.

Other responsibilities may include ad-hoc reporting and support of existing Oracle/PowerBuilder applications.

Essential Functions

1. Develop highly interactive web based transactional applications for strategic business function

2. Design logical and physical data models to drive application architecture, while considering infrastructure capability and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

3. Adjust existing system design and procedures to solve new problems in a dynamic environment.

4. Building a team of developers and leading that team in the design and implementation of a system/development architecture with the focus on standardization, speed and adaptabilit

5. Activities will include software requirements gathering, design, development, and testing of applications.

6. Communicate well among and between teams.

8. Ensure systems design and functionality matches the organization's business strategies and is clearly communicated to the user groups.

Essential Skills: The desired employee will have significant experience with current web development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio .

NET, the .NET Framework, Visual Basic .NET and/or C#, ASP.NET, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 networking.

Knowledge of object-oriented design and programming is essential, as is knowledge of relational database methods.

Experience with UML modeling, component and class design will be advantageous, as will experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Transact-SQL and SQLXML.

This person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

They should posses or demonstrate the ability to build, manage and work well with a development team.

The person must be able to accurately convey a concept or idea to less technical people, adapt quickly to changing requirements and be comfortable interacting with clients.

Qualifications

1. 4 year degree in computer science or a related field.

2. Microsoft certification preferred but not required.

3. 5 years relevant work experience.

4. 3 years previous Project Management experience require

5. Knowledge of relational database theory.

6. Experience with Oracle, SQL, and Object Oriented programming.

7. Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Networking basic

8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook
