Scrub Technician (United Memorial)
Schedule: Full time, 72 hours per pay period, 1st shift, Monday - Friday and some night call.
Certified Surgical Technologist, expereince with GEN/GYN/URO/ORTHO preferred.
Must be within 30 minutes when on call Department: Surgery Location: United in Greenville, MI Job Summary: Provides assistance to the physician during surgical procedures.
Works under the direction of the physician and professional nurse in the surgical suite, assisting in preparation, care and maintenance of the patient.
Participates in performance improvement activities and customer service initiatives.
Job Requirements: Completion of approved program for scrub technician or 1 year prior scrub experience.
BCLS certification.
Previous Operating Room experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Other: This job requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted up to 50 pounds, 1/3 of the time.
On-the-job time is spent in the following physical activities: Standing up to 1/2 of the time, walking up to 1/3 of the time, sitting up to 1/3 of the time, speaking or hearing up to 2/3 of the time, using hands 1/3 of the time, pushing or pulling up to 1/3 of the time; stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending or crawling up to 1/3 of the time.
This job requires color vision; the ability to identify or distinguish colors.
This job requires the ability to hear alarms on equipment, hear a patient call, hear instructions from physician, staff and patients/visitors.
Repetitive motions include grasping of right or left or both hands 1-2 hours.
Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Able to assist in moving patients.
