) The Women and Children Float Pool supports the services provided in Labor and Delivery, OB Special Care (antepartum high-risk obstetrics), Mother/ Baby and Women's Health.

00 per hour stipend as a Float Position.

Summary: Spectrum Health consists of two acute care facilities with a combined capacity of over 1,000 inpatient beds.

We also offer opportunities in our outpatient settings including offices, clinics, occupational health, Urgent Care Centers and Surgical Centers.

This Birthing Services position provides nursing care for the undelivered mother prior to delivery and through the birth process, including stabilization of the newborn.

The Spectrum Health Family Birthplace is located at the Butterworth Campus.

Labor and Delivery consists of 7 Triage beds, 31 Birthing rooms, 3 Cesarean birth rooms, 5 Post anesthesia care beds and a Nursery.

The Spectrum Health Birthplace offers an incredibly, sophisticated scope of care.

It includes a critical obstetric and a high-risk maternity component in addition to the largest, most active neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in West Michigan.

Working together as a team, Labor and Delivery physicians, nurses and staff not only get to experience the full spectrum of the birthing process, but they also take an active and compassionate role in the lives of each and every one of their patients.

Six Perinatologists plus our Obstetricians and Family Practice physicians work collaboratively with the nursing staff to provide quality treatment and personalized care.

Approximately 8,000 babies are delivered annually.

Services at the Birthplace have been developed to provide comprehensive care for mothers and their newborns that few other hospitals can provide.

Patient diagnosis includes labor and delivery, pre-term labor, PPROM, PIH, advanced dilatation, multiple gestations, and maternal disease (i.

e., cardiac disease, uncontrolled diabetes) and trauma.

An Anesthesiologist is available twenty-four hours a day for emergent needs as well as offering an epidural service.

Job Requirements: Michigan RN license.

CPR and NRP certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment.

AWHONN fetal monitoring education is required.

Ability to circulate during obstetric operative procedures preferred.

Ability to care for high risk obstetric patients required.

Working knowledge of a variety of health care equipment.

Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
