RN-Weekend Option-Trauma/Orthopaedics
Schedule: 48hrs/pp, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm Job Summary: Spectrum Health consists of two acute care facilities with a combined capacity of over 1,000 inpatient beds.
We also offer opportunities in our outpatient settings including offices, clinics, occupational health, Med Centers and Surgical Centers.
This position is only available in the acute care setting.
Unit Profile: This position provides nursing care to patients with orthopaedic conditions/surgeries, and patients with multiple trauma injuries.
Spectrum Health Orthopaedic services was nationally recognized for two consecutive years as a "Top 100" service.
We provide comprehensive total-joint education and rehab; specialized clinical care for trauma patients admitted through the regions only Level I Trauma Center; and physical and emotional support for all patients and their families.
The staff is dedicated to quality patient care and teamwork, and through their experience we are able to provide mentorship for new staff through skilled staff preceptors.
We offer educational opportunities to our staff including entry level orthopaedic classes for all new staff and have developed advanced level classes for more experienced staff.
A unit educator and an orthopaedic CNS support our education.
Job Requirements: Michigan RN license.
CPR certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment.
Staff in this program are allowed 108 hours off per calendar year on weekends.
Part time benefit eligibility.
Other: Time management and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of computers and their application preferred.
Working knowledge of a variety of health care equipment.
Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
Ability to instruct and direct the work of others.
80% of time spent standing and/or walking.
Ability to lift up to a 60 pound weight load.
Very frequent lifting and bending, pushing and/or pulling loads.
Able to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions.
