Paramedic
Job Summary: The Licensed Paramedic, in accordance with the Spectrum Health nursing accountability statement, collaborates with other members of the health care team and uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat the patient responses to actual or potential health conditions.
The Paramedic assesses, monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications associated with specific health problems and / or medical treatment.
Job Requirements: Graduate of approved paramedic program.
Three years of experience as a Paramedic.
Licensed as a Paramedic in the State of Michigan.
Successful completion of competency-based orientation program.
CPR certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment.
Other: Time management and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of a variety of health care equipment.
Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
Ability to instruct and direct the work of others.
80% of time spend standing and/or walking.
Ability to lift up to a 60 pound weight load.
Very frequent lifting and bending, pushing and/or pulling loads.
Able to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions.
