About the Opportunity Your direction and guidance are key to the effective and profitable operation of the facility.
While providing the highest quality of care possible, your staff will make sure to comply with Kindred's policies and State/Federal rules and regulations.
You'll be in charge of the clinical, administrative and service departments all working together to make sure Kindred's residents are taken care of with not only medical expertise but genuine involvement in their needs and feelings.
Responsibilities: Lead the planning process to develop goals for quality care, employee retention and financial performance Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility; direct the hiring/training of personnel; implement control systems to ensure accountability in all departments Ensure all employees receive orientation and ongoing training; act as Chairperson of the Performance Improvement Committee; and serve as the facility's Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator Assist in drafting the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and ensure that all employees are trained in and adhere to its principles Responsible for census development/marketing and preparation of the annual budgets for approval by Senior Regional Management Act as spokesperson for the facility at community meetings and promote programs through the news media Qualifications Knowledge of Long-Term Care and Medicaid/Medicare regulations/standards as well as cost reporting, profit and loss and budget compliance is required.
Must be flexible in work hours and work with a large staff and diverse client base.
Requires effective communication/organization/prioritization skills and ability to direct and motivate the workforce.
The Administrator is able to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
Other requirements include a BS in healthcare administration, business, finance, a clinical specialty or equivalent long-term care experience.
Should have two years of experience as a licensed Administrator in a long-term care facility or have completed an AIT program.
