Lactation Consultant
Schedule: 48hrs/pp, Sat and Sun, every weekend, 8am-8pm.
Location: Women's Services - Butterworth Job Summary: Provides information/instruction/assistance and support to lactating mothers and families.
Participates in projects and develops/revises procedures/ policies/ education materials/guidelines/educational programs related to lactation issues.
Collaborates with and serves as a resource for the other health professionals to promote delivery of quality services and patient education within the institution as well as the community.
Job Requirements: Bachelor of Science.
IBCLC certification or attainment within two years.
Maintenance of yearly CPR certification.
One year maternal/child or neonatal nursing experience and/or lactation education experience.
Master's Degree preferred.
Prior teaching experience with the adult client preferred.
Advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in meeting the needs of the lactating family preferred.
Working knowledge of computers and their application preferred.
Other: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Time management and organizational skills.
Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
Independently mobile.
Able to lift patients up to 60 pound weight limit.
Frequent bending, pushing, pulling.
