Infection Control Practitioner Infection Control Services (Days) Req.#8050833 Location: Providence Hospital Department: Infection Control Services Shift Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Friday Standard Hours per week: 32 Pay range: $24.

52 Job Summary: Under general supervision, conducts surveillance and monitoring activities, and data collection related to infection prevention and control throughout the hospital and ambulatory centers.
Enforces infection control policies and procedures; assists with policy development and periodic review of policies.
Conducts education of associates relative to infection prevention and control.
Qualifications Required: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or Nursing.
Basic course work in Microbiology.
6 months experience in Infection Control, Public Health or Microbiology.
Current Michigan RN licensure or MT(ASCP).
Demonstrated computer expertise to produce documents, complex tables, forms and reports.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
Demonstrated skills in mathematical calculation and statistical analysis.
Demonstrated knowledge of Epidemiology principles and methods.
Demonstrated effective team building skills including open communication and flexibility.
Valid Michigan drivers license.
Ability to drive and/or provide own transportation to various sites in the Providence network.
Preferred: Course work in Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
