An abundance of opportunities awaits you. Overview: Plans and provides clinical support to patients and staff; in addition, provides clinical leadership, financial and personnel management within the department.
Supervises employees and participates in selection, orientation, counseling and evaluation of staff.
Participates in quality improvement processes, in the department.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to organize and provide care appropriate to the age of patients served by the perioperative team.
Responsibilities: Manages patient care activities within the budgetary and productivity guidelines of the dapartment.
Monitors staff usage and ensures staffing meets patient needs in a fiscally responsible manner.
Supports change and participates in the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the process improvement and quality management activities of the department.
Works with staff to make necessary changes within the environment.
Serves as a resource person to patients, families, physicians and staff in facilitating medical and nursing care through patient flow and unilization of appropriate resources.
Assists in interpreting system policies, in the clinical setting.
Takes responsibility for providing safe and cost effective care and attention to patient satisfaction and customer service.
Provides and/or facilitates patient centered nursing care and patient flow for defined patient population and serves as a resource to employees for clinical and managerial support.
Assumes responsibility for direct patient care when necessary.
Promotes interdisciplinary patient care planning and patient education which considers the unique cultural, psychosocial and age associated needs of patients.
Assesses appropriateness of level of care and communicates utilization issues to senior management as necessary.
Qualifications: Requires a registered nurse with a current Az or other compact state license.
BSN or healthcare related Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability and a minimum of 3 years PreOp or PACU experience.
The ability to build and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff, physicians, patients and their families is required.
Banner Surgery Center employees are expected to adhere to Banner's Service standards and organizational values in all their interactions with Banner patients, other customers and fellow employees.
