CVT/Invasive Cardiac Technician, Cardiac Cath Lab
Description: Operates and assesses monitoring of patients in the Cardiac Catherization Lab. Administer individualized, professional patient care through efficient knowledge and safe practice of cardiac catherization procedures.
Assumes responsibility for patient care and monitoring before and after procedures.
Executes special assignment with the lab. Participates in quality improvement programs and inventory control.
Uses an understanding of the principals of growth and development to assess each patients age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Requirements: Minimum of one year post high school clinical experience in cardiac monitoring.
Completion of basic arrhythmia and hemodynamic course.
Graduate of cardiovascular technician courses preferred.
BCLS certified.
Successful completion of all orientation programs.
Demonstrates thorough understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and arrhythmia and hemodynamic pressure distinction.
Competency in operating monitoring system in cardiac catherization lab. Familiarity with operation of power injector, IABP and Hemochron.
