Account Specialist: Confidential
Primary Responsibility - Establishing and following up on finance contracts for outstanding healthcare facilities/hospitals.
Establishes and monitors loan services and payment arrangements in accordance with clients guidelines and/or departmental procedures.
Primary duties of position include: Promptly accepts and handles incoming telephone calls for all accounts assigned.
Answers patient inquiries regarding accounts.
When on a call and a message for a return call to a patient is received, the return call will be made within 24 hours of receiving the message.
Researches, identifies, and rectifies any special circumstances affecting delayed payment on accounts.
Documents activity in patient accounting system Maintains all reports, files and records as needed for the position.
Adheres to all established company policies and departmental procedures.
Identifies un-collectable accounts to be returned to the client and recommend subsequent action in the collection cycle (i.
e., bad debt, write-off, etc.). Contacts patients via telephone/mail, according to schedule of dispositions to be worked on given days.
Remains current on regulations and statues that influence collections of receivables.
Performs other duties as assigned by managing supervisor.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 - 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Collection or financial applications and medical terminology courses highly desirable.
The position requires excellent communication skills, telephone etiquette, basic keyboarding skills, and a knowledge of, or ability to learn about, financial applications with regards to loan processing.
