SYSTEMS COORDINATOR: Civil Service Office of Hillsborough
MAJOR FUNCTION Performs duties coordinating the activities of computer system operations within an organization or with other organizations.
MAJOR DUTIES Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive.

Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform some or all of the activities described below.
Coordinates and expedites data processing activities within own organization or with other organizations.
Consults with department's managerial and/or computer personnel to clarify intent of programs, determine extent of automatic programming and coding techniques to use, point out problems, and suggest changes.
Coordinates work with clients to assure their needs are satisfied.
Recommends procedures and policies governing the use of computer hardware and software including operational priorities.
Develops reports using report writer software to provide information to management and staff for decision making.
Trains personnel in the use of computer software and hardware.
Performs other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Considerable knowledge of specific capabilities, functions, and operations of computer software and hardware currently used by the agency(ies) served.
Considerable knowledge of the functions and responsibilities of the department or agency served or other departments and agencies supported.
Working knowledge of general procedures and processes used in data processing.
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer problems and derive solutions.
Ability to train others.
Ability to develop and implement operating procedures to meet changing requirements.
Ability to create general solutions to data processing problems.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate computers and associated software and hardware.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Note: Minimum Qualifications MUST be attained before the recruitment ending date.
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate; andFive years of experience troubleshooting hardware and software problems and coordinating the resolution of complex hardware and software problems with an Information Technology or Data Processing function or vendor; or coordinating the installation of new hardware and software or upgrades to existing systems with an Information Technology or Data Processing function or vendor.
ORAn Associate's or higher degree from an accredited college or university; andThree years of experience troubleshooting hardware and software problems and coordinating the resolution of complex hardware and software problems with an Information Technology or Data Processing function or vendor; or coordinating the installation of new hardware and software or upgrades to existing systems with an Information Technology or Data Processing function or vendor.ORA Master's Degree from an accredited college or university; andTwo years of experience troubleshooting hardware and software problems and coordinating the resolution of complex hardware and software problems with an Information Technology or Data Processing function or vendor; or two years of experience coordinating the installation of new hardware and software or upgrades to existing systems with an Information Technology or Data Processing function or vendor.
