Mechanics and Aspiring Mechanics Needed - Protect the Homeland The Coast Guard Reserve has immediate openings for Mechanics with two or more years experience in any of the following categories: Internal Combustion Gas, Diesel or Turbine Mechanics Heavy Equipment Mechanics Machine Shop Mechanics Heating, AC&R Plumbing & Piping Systems, Pump Maintenance and Valves, Fittings Your experience may qualify you for our Direct Petty Officer Program.
You will enlist at an advanced pay-grade with advanced responsibility and leadership opportunities.

If you are looking to gain valuable skills and improve your resume we will send you to 12-weeks of hands on training where some of what you will learn includes leadership, mechanical skills, hydraulic theory, heating, AC & refrigeration, both internal combustion engine and outboard motor theory/maintenance & tune-up and basic electrical theory.
As a mechanic in the US Coast Guard Reserve you may also have the opportunity to serve as a federal law enforcement officer.
Prior service is not necessary to join.
