Grounds Maintenance Associate II - Bethesda Pool: Gwinnett County Government
This class is primarily responsible for performing janitorial duties at the aquatic facility.
Minor repairs and maintenance on buildings and grounds, are secondary duties.
The Grade/DBM for this position is A132.
Essential Duties: · Performs daily cleaning duties at the facility.
· Performs minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and other maintenance on facilities, fences, and equipment.
· Daily handling of basic building cleaning chemicals.
· Daily handling of swimming pool chemicals.
· Cleans and vacuums swimming pool and deck area.
· Picks up trash, recyclables, and other debris from grounds.
· Cleans, mops, and maintains supplies at the facility.
· Assists in maintaining the overall safety of facility/grounds/pool and equipment for public and County use · Inspecting the work of lower staff.
· Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Education/Experience, Licenses, Knowledge and Skills, Physical Requirements: Education/Experience: · High School Diploma, or G.ED · Two years of facilities/grounds maintenance experience.
· Valid Georgia Driver's License.
Knowledge & Skills: · Building cleanliness and basic maintenance principles and practices.
· Basic swimming pool knowledge.
· Minor knowledge of swimming pool chemicals.
· Performing and operating facility/grounds maintenance equipment.
· Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Physical Requirements: Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, and extreme temperatures.
